Yes we can. Hell no, you can’t!

Viral. An enjoyable link from the Frank Rich article, and Rep Boehner at his best:

Frank Rich: the rage isn’t about health care.

Frank Rich contends the whole health care debate has essentially been subsumed by something far darker than a simple tea partier’s delight, and he’s not afraid to call out the historical ignorance displayed by several within the mob: How curious that a mob fond of likening President Obama to Hitler knows so little about history [...]

C-SPAN caller is sick of all the calls coming in from black people.

…and he thinks the should change their name to ‘Black-SPAN’.  He also conjectures conservatives and Republicans and going to have to figure out ‘where else to go’ if this keeps up. I think the moderates and lefties of the world might have some suggestions for him. You can’t make this level of ignorance up, can [...]

Christopher Hitchens writes a scathing indictment of the pope’s role in the Catholic Church’s latest sex scandal.

Unsurprisingly, Christopher Hitchens is among those who see the current evidence against the pope as incontrovertible.  Here’s the evidence Hitchens points to in his assessment that the pope is not above the law, and was in fact involved in the cover up.

Israel’s Netanyahu humiliated after Barack Obama ‘dumped him for dinner’.

Waaah.  Happens all the time, so naysayers need not pretend Barack Obama was the first to take this approach.  And if you do want to pretend you’re overlooking years of Cold War postering and abrupt walkaways. Perhaps Israel needs to move past the entitlement phase with the United States and start trying to forge deals [...]

US set to make $8 billion from bailing out Citi. TARP win!

Who says the taxpayers can’t make some money on this TARP thing?  The feds definitely don’t. Too bad it’s not $8 trillion we’re getting back.

What American Republicans can learn from Britain’s Conservative Party.

Here’s a little writeup we found particularly logical regarding what the GOP can learn from Conservatives in Great Britain.  We’re not entirely convinced the GOP still knows how to do more than call people names, but there’s no reason to lose hope.

For Ann Coulter, calling people (and institutions) names is always the best approach to not getting your way.

After several students organized to keep her from speaking at an event on the University of Ottawa campus Ann Coulter expressed her outrage, calling the University of Ottawa a “bush league” institution in an interview for The Washington Times. More via Coulter speech canceled after threats.

Now that the health care plan has been signed, suddenly opinions turn favorable.

USATODAY.com released an interesting poll today that seems to reveal Americans overall are now in favor of the recently passed healthcare plan. I haven’t examined the poll in more detail to see if there’s something behind the numbers, like the phrasing used to ask the question.  Not saying this because I don’t trust the polling. [...]
